Correcting rounding errors between Sage CM and Sage Intacct

Rounding differences between Sage CM and Sage Intacct due to the following:

  • For some types of Sage Construction Management rounds on an item level, while Sage Intacct rounds on a totals level.

  • Sage Construction Management uses Bankers Rounding, while Sage Intacct does not.

This is the #1 issue my company is facing. Since we went live ~1 year ago with Sage CM and Sage Intacct, posting from SCM to Intacct has been a non-stop challenge, specifically due to rounding.

For AP - sales tax is 6.625% in one of our states, and this almost always results in more than 2 decimal places when multiplying it against the line item cost. SCM will have one total for the line and Intacct will calculate a different total due to rounding. The only solution we have is to create adjustments for a few cents so we can match the invoice from our vendor, and pay accurately

For AR - Fixed Lump Sum seems to be ok. And Cost Plus we do not use. But Unit Price contracts have issues, specifically because the Contract Amount for a line item could be different than the Invoice Amount, even if we invoiced for the entire quantity (ex: we invoice for 165 SF out of 165 SF, but the Invoice Amount is still $0.02 cents less than the Contract Amount. We are unable to invoice for the remaining $0.02 cents because SCM thinks we are fully invoiced from the quantity perspective).

Overall - this is a foundational issue that completely disrupts our business processes, and hope that some solution is rolled out ASAP. I'd like to see the ability to toggle rounding rules within the posting preferences of Accounting Link.
