The main thing we want to track in Daily Logs is subcontractor activity. I’m not interested in their hours, and we don’t have employees hours to track. But I would like a pull down menu of our Subs/Vendors so I can pick one and write a sentence about what they did or what issues occurred each day. I tried in both the Subs and the Activities areas, with no luck. I would like to be able to later do a search on a sub/vendor and/or key word and see a list of daily logs that contain this items. For instance, my Foundation Sub, and the word “forms” would allow me to see any entries related to that. I am told that there is nothing in Daily Logs that will allow me to track this way, unless I want to enter hours for the sub/Vendor? I would think this is a common expectation of daily logs?
If you add your subcontractor activity details to the Workforce (All Trades) section, you should be able to run the Daily Log Manpower by Company report to see all of the companies across your Daily Logs. This will require hours, but since you aren't tracking those you can just put a 1. You can also use Daily Log Activities by filling out the Activity Type as Forms or Foundation and then run the Daily Log Activities Grouped by Type report. This will require a quantity, but if you are not tracking those you can put 1.
