Required Addition of Closeout Option for Submittal Items

It has come to our attention that the current version of Sage only allows for marking an entire submittal package as "closeout." While this feature may be functional for others, it falls short when dealing with closeouts within a specification section. This limitation causes confusion and undermines the clarity needed for effective project management.

To address this, it is imperative to introduce an option within Sage that allows individual submittal items to be marked as "closeout." This enhancement will provide a clear distinction in reports, enabling us to identify which submittals are categorized as closeouts and are expected near the conclusion of a project. Implementing this functionality is critical to ensuring accurate tracking, reducing ambiguity, and maintaining efficiency throughout the project.

The absence of this feature has resulted in operational inefficiencies that we cannot afford to ignore. Therefore, I urge the necessary teams to prioritize this update. All submittal items must be properly categorized to reflect their status accurately.

I see your point. I think a demension to clarify that a Submittal Item, a Close Out Item, or even an O&M document would be a great enhancement. I will ask the team to look into this for our June or August Update. In the meantime, I suggest using the Submittal Item Status and add Close-Out Item Approved, Close-Out Item Denied, or something like that. This appear at the Submittal Item level, not the Submittal header. Here is a screen shot to help find these.
