Showing the company code in the drop-down would be the first step in resolving this issue. Later on we can add customer and vendor check boxes on the company profile form.

This is causing some headaches for us at the moment - in particular with syncing things down to SIC.

We have checked the "bidders list" box on all of our vendors/subcontractors, and we have trained those creating POs/Subcontracts to only "add from bidders list". This has addressed half of the issue.

In creating leads and projects, there is however no easy way to distinguish between vendor and customer companies. We have now realized that there are numerous projects/prime contracts that have synced down with a vendor as the customer. We have realized this, as we have just tried to create a prime invoice against one of these prime contracts, and in attempting to push the prime invoice through the accounting link to SIC - the sync failed. The error stated that a prime invoice could not be created against a vendor.

We are now faced with considerable leg work to unlock, unlink, correct, re-initiate workflows, and re-sync these projects/prime contracts to SIC.

It seems like only allowing vendors to be selected from POs/Subcontracts, and only allowing customers to be selected from "existing customers" in Leads, projects/prime contracts would be a great way to prevent this from happening again.
