Create T&M Users as Contractor, not Employee

Goal: have contractors and/or contract 'employees' record hours directly in SCM.

Solution: Allow creation of T&M user accounts as contractors, not just employees. These user accounts would have the same functionality as vendors with 'track time' option enabled (and presumably could leverage the same back end code).

This would avoid the hassles of excel imports, data-entry errors, and allow better tracking of project budgets rather than the current monthly import cycle. It will also speed up our invoicing as we can better use ongoing time approvals and expense entry creation, etc.

    The part I don't like about the existing feature is that the contractor lands in the "Employees" list and AccountingLink tries to export them as employees into my accounting program. A contractor set up to report T&M should not be landing on my payroll.

    Teamlink would work if you could work out licensing but the preference would be a normal user so external companies would have mobile access which we guess the teamlink role wouldn't provide.

    I would prefer if they were just treated like an internal employees where you could select an "External User" to apply a licence against and it just sits under the current licensing rules.

    MAX plans would still be based on internal employee count but you could make time track company/contacts users which would fall into the license count of the MAX plans.

    I know back around 2016 that was available as the time track users sat in the employee list so could be made users but it changed in one of the V8 updates

    If we added the ability for External Stakeholders to individually add their own hours via Teamlink Portal, would that work? If so, we can check to see if that is possible and discuss if there are additional costs to the subscriber.

    This does not already exist.

    What was wanted was the ability to add external company contacts as users so they can enter their own time.

    Time track does allow time to be entered for them but someone in your company has to enter time on their behalf.

    For licensing it would need Time Tracked Company Contacts to be able to be added as users where currently you can only pick internal employees as users

    I have the vendor and their employees set up with track time. I import their hours periodically via excel.

    The request is for the ability to attach a T&E user account to a vendor's employee so they enter time directly in the system, rather than the excel middle step. Currently I can only assign a T&E user account to my own employees.
