Workflow "Pause" or "GL Posting Date Field"

Currently the connection between SCM and Intacct has the GL Posting Date set to populate from the Invoice Date on transactions. For many clients the Invoice date gets confirmed during the Approval process and if it gets posted to Intacct after a Period has been Closed that date needs to be adjusted before they can post.

Unfortunately, for those companies using Workflows in SCM that means abandoning the workflow, editing the date, re-initiating the workflows, everyone approving and then posting the transactions.

This also impacts the approval process if using sequential and a later approver wants to make a change to the transaction. They have to abandon the workflow make edits, initiate workflow again and wait for all other approvers to approve. A pause or ability to edit and just approve after edit would be helpful.

Would either of the following options be a solution that could be updated ASAP:

• A pause function on approvals, where an admin or next approver can edit the transaction but when un-paused it continues the workflow from that step rather than start the process all over?

  • This would also help for approvers in a workflow that need to adjust certain data points and there are approvers prior to them.

• Or, a GL Posting Date Field that can be edited during the Batch Post Wizard Process that can be entered by Administrators only when Posting from SCM to Intacct. This means it is not needed to reapprove items before posting when it is in a Closed Period.
